The Cat in the Hat . .
More Like "The Fish in the Bowl"

The Cat in the Hat by Dr.Seuss

The Cat in the Hat begins on a rainy day. The narrator and Sally sat and stared out the window being bored out of their head. This reminds me of my rainy days. It becomes boring and all you could do was to stay home. Would you think it be a dream come true to have a cat showed up on your own doorstep on a rainy day. Well, the narrator and Sally had that dream come true, the cat in the hat showed up on their doorstep. This was when he unexpectedly came into the house and the fish started to tell the cat and the children that the cat shouldn't come inside the house. The cat shouldn't be in the house when the mother is not home. I choose to analysis the fish because the fish play the role of parents. I remember in class having a discussion about how stranger should not enter the house in this case the stranger is the cat. Other discussion was about how teenager tends to have party and not let their parent know about it. Everyone wants to have their own fun once in a while as long as they clean up after their mess. But chances are that once in a while people get caught. The fish showed superego because he have his belief of right and wrong. I can indicate this because of his expression and his action. In the beginning of the book he tells the cat and the children that the cat should not be in the house. The fish expression was serious. He seemed to be the parent in the book while the mother is not home. The fish knows that things will go wrong if the cat come into the house. Throughout the entire book the fish always have a certain expression on his face. On pg 25 the fish said "Look what you did! Now look at this house!. . . You get out of this house" he was pointing to the cat while he said this and the cat had a sad expression on. I can tell from this image that the fish have anger in his voice because of his looks. The fish effect on others showed responsibility. If the fish did not showed this emotion toward the cat I think the children would just let the cat do whatever the cat wanted to do. Throughout the whole book the fish was the only person who seems more responsible and worry. At the end he was the fish one to notice that the mother was on the way home. The fish doesn't like things to be messy. This takes us into the fish actions. "Do I like this? Oh no! I do not. This is not a good game." (pg 23) the fish didn’t like what the cat is doing inside their house. When the cat introduced them to thing one and thing two the fish had a worried face on. This type of actions and behavior support the fish character as being superego. As discussed in class the only time when you could see a happy face on the fish was at the end. When he knows that everything will be cleaned and back to how it was from the beginning. It was a relief expression. The fish characteristic represents moral and conscience. The behavior of the cat seemed to not care about the effect of his own cause. Instead he care about rather the kid was having fun or not. With the fish telling the children each time that the cat shouldn’t be in the house, it takes away their fun which showed that the fish speech made impact on their own decision with the cat. Each time when the fish tells the cat and the children that it was wrong to let the cat inside the house the cat comes up with new ideas. Sometimes children do things more just to make their parents have headache even though their parents disapprove it. The fish private thoughts and feelings showed that he did not like the cat one bit. He knew it was wrong from the start to let the cat inside the house. Each of these reasons and details supports my main argument because it indicates the fish attitude, looks, action etc. throughout the book.

Persepolis Blog 2

The revolution exert power and influence over so many people, including many educated and middle class people like Satrapi's parents because it did not matter if they were Rich or poor. It was the government who made the choices to take control of the revolution and this made changes to the laws. So many people leave after the revolution because they did not want their children to be killed or themselves. It was very dangerous to be living in a place where a bomb could hit the next day. For example on page 142 when Marji's neighbor got attacked. the Baba-levy's house was completely destroyed and Marji's saw a bracelet that belong to Neda's and it was still attached to probably her arm. This was a sad ending for Neda. Living in a neighbor where you hear about attacks from other places through the radio is very dangerous. I think Marji's family send her off to Australia so that she could be safe. With all the school educating them in different ways in which htey must obey the laws and the revolution going on it was best that Marji's be somewhere safer. I think her parents stayed and not escape as well because if they did it would be harder. During the revolution it was hard to get passport and so it must be why they didn't want to suffer that. This remind me of a war in Laos in which my parents comes from. They cross the big river in order to escape a war from the vietnam. It was very dangerous and that was when they were just about 4 years old.

Marji's family is very confident in their choices. In the beginning of the book Marji's mother fought for freedom along with others when the laws of wearing a veil was beginning. The importance to Marji's family is letting their own daughter choose her own way of life. They did not want to push her into doing something she did not want to. For example when the teacher asked Marji's what she want to be when she grow up she answered, a prophet. The teacher called in her parents and talked to them about it and they was not worry about their daughter choice. Marji's family history was very intersting such as her uncle Anoosh who was in prison for nine years. Marji's grandmother is very old but she had always taken care of her children. From reading this book I think Marji's family get their strength from their past life history. They do not want Marji to go through what they have gone through so they are creating a safe but yet a free environment to her.

Religion is very imporant in Persepolis. Overall by reading Persepolis religion define certain chraacters because their are hatred between other religion as well as there are love. Everyone interact differently through eachother either they believe in the same thing or in different thing. It is one belief that makes us who we really are. Even I have my own religion but yet I learned to accept others and who I am. I think Satrapi's is delivering a message that religion will always be within us and it is something that we must accept who we are. It is about how we take in the cultural aspect and the way we play a role in it. As a individual and society I think Satrapi's is trying to say that many individual like their religion but others do not and as they start to dislike it they will dislike the society who believe in that certain religion. Different religion have different laws and they also have different ways of doing things. But there is no one to blame, I believed that everyone should have their own rights and opinion.

Persepolis Blog 1

4. How is Persepolis organized and structured? What as Satrapi chosen to emphasize in her childhood? How is the passage of time presented? Describe Satrapi's drawings. How do the drawings add to the narrative of the story?

Persepolis by Mariane Satrapi is organized and structured by the fact that it is read from top to bottom and left to right like any other novel books. But the great part is that instead of just words it is structured like comic book. Some readers prefer images because of their imagination. In Satrapi childhood she chose to emphasize her life living through the 1979 revolution that was called "The Islamic Revolution". At school the student along with their teacher had to wear veil. Satrapi character who is mainly this cute little girl that had to suffer through her life and even thought about wanting to become a prophet. She wanted to be justice, wrath and god all in one. The passage of time presented, I am guessing mostly relate to history because it speak much about the location of Iran. The discovery of oil, Alexander the Great, Arab neighbors to the west, conquerors from Mongolian and Turkish etc. It is about the connection of fundamentalism, fanaticism, and terrorism. Satrapi drawings are in black and white. Though it is only in black and white in which in modern day we would call it "original" it tells a lot behind in panel. Her drawing show emotion which is really wonderful to see face expression. Face expression says a lot when they say something in their own bubble. Satrapi also added narrative that summarized what is happening in the picture. She also used different facial for different character so it is easier to tell apart who is whom.

5. Describe the writer's voice. Is it appealing? Which aspects of Marji's character do you identify with or like the most, the least? Did your reaction to the little girl affect your reading experience?

The writer voice show emotion along with facial expression. For example, the way Satrapi drawn her character it have expression on it and it give you a way of imagining how that character will say what he/she need to say along with the facial expression that is given. On page 33, the fifth panel would be a good example. If there was no word you could tell that the guy in the car is yelling in a anger voice or a "get out of here damn you" voice. The aspect of Marji's character I like most is that is is always confident in herself. She believe in herself and her grandmother also believed in her. The least that I like about Marji's character is that she doesn't understand anything as well as when she was first told. Well, it wouldn't be a big issue because she is still young. But I don't like how goes against things in having a attitude ways. My reading to the reaction of the little girl did not affect my reading experience. I must admit this book was very difficult to keep track of because it jump from character to character along with Marji's in it. But overall it is a really interesting book along with the facts that was given.

2. Written as memoir, is Persepolis more powerful than if Satrapi had fictionalized the story? Why or why not? Compare this book to other memoirs you have read. What are the benefits and drawbacks of memoirs?

I think that as memoir it is much more powerful than a fictionalized story because when you have a story that you have experience you can tell it from your own perspective. Instead of making things up as it was to pop out of your imagination, a memoir says more and show more emotion. It actually make the reader go "awe" when they are reading a memoir book rather than a fiction book because they know that it is a fiction book. I have read many memoirs book and I can tell the difference if it is fiction or not because when you read a book it takes away your imagination in picturing what is really happening and therefore it will make more sense if it is real or not. For example if wrote something like, "I ate a white bear" it would be more like, "oh really? You did?". The benefits in writing a memoir book, is that you do not have to make things up a long the way into making a novel. The drawbacks is that the part that are being put into the novel comes from your life itself. It will need details and have to be based on your own surrounding.

My Personal Feed

When I have to think about what kind of feed I will have I just didn't want to have one. Feed by M.T Anderson was one of the main reason why I didn't want to have a feed because of what the feed was doing to those who did one have. People starts to forget who they really are, and their intelligence have fade away. Though many have the feed others who didn't have it felt offended for example when Violet father was looking for a job. But overall there are pros and cons in having a feed so I decided one what my personal feed would be like. Media, consumerism, reliance on technology, and/or popular culture personally affects and impacts me in many reasonable way. This may not be the case but every one of those have something in common. As media sell off we are consuming it and as we consume it we are the consumer. Sometimes new technology are being created and as we see those new technology we throw away the old ones because we simply think its not cool anymore. Popular culture meaning being able to stand out. All of these impact my life because they are something that I have done in life or have occur to me at a certain point where once something new come to me I forget about the old things.

My feed contain fashion, foods, technology, brands and places. I wanted my feed to contain those because for fashion, I am a shopper and this ties into brands. As a shopper I sometimes shop for the not so expensive clothes are are worth it. Sometimes when you start to realized that some of the things that you wear for a couple of weeks then being thrown away that probably cost more than thirty bucks aren't even worth buying. I start to get tired of shopping because almost everything in the store that I goes to now have like almost all the same things. In that case I can't find what I really want because everything just seem so plain. I remember saying to my sisters that I wish I have something or someone that can buy the clothes for me because there is just so many to choose from and so many of them that look almost the same! Secondly foods because even at this weight of mine I eat a lot. And as I recall one of my goals in life is to become a pastry chief because I love to try new things and by trying new things it add in why my feed will also contain places. Places and food are connected because I want to travel while I try new foods. If I were to pick one thing from reading the book "Feed" that I would hate to be in my feed would be the advertisement. When the class have to listen to the CD of how the character would sound like the advertisement was really crazy. I would go crazy if I had that in my head.

I can't really define American culture and identity because everyone have their own opinion. But in my opinion I would define American as confident, intelligence but yet sometimes do things that aren't necessary, and just plain but at times very advance. I choose to define American culture and identity as confident because as human we are all confident in our own ways but yet some of us don't have that courage to speak in which we do have the freedom of speech. American are intelligence but yet sometimes do things that aren't necessary, I choose to have that as of the the identity because it is true that the actions we do sometimes we don't even think about it before we say/do it (For your information, there is a reason having a brain). Last but not least plain but at times very advance. America is plain but yet if we use our intelligence we can be very advance at building new things that aren't invented yet.

People view technology use as daily resource because people are basically surrounded by technology. For example when you enter a house, one thing that people will have is a television. Other technology use that people have today are cell phones, lab top, computer etc. Consumerism to people today are a big part in their life because those who shop at the mall are basically at least buying something. As human we buy things to satisfy our wants and needs. It is good and bad in it own ways therefore there will always be pros and cons in every situation because we cannot resist the fact that technology have become a big part of out life and consumerism have become something that we are addicted.

Media, consumerism, and reliance on technology personally affect me in many different ways. They all affect me because when you see things that are new to you you start to want it. In an addition to that media sell things that they know people will buy. That is how they live, if their product don't catch people it is obviously they will start to lose their business. Reliance on technology mostly affect me as a individual because I use a lot of technology, such as computers, sometimes I spend more time on the computer than being active outside. It takes me away from what is happening in the real world and I wonder if that is how it is for the characters in "feed". When it comes to the question if it mold us, or us them it could be both ways because we rely on them too much since they are our surrounding and we could be molding them because we as human produce them.It impact and define me very much as a person who consume and consume but at the same time give. It is hard to admit that my personal habits and my individuality rely on technology use. Maybe it rely on technology too much to the point where I can't live without technology.

I think the moral of the story and how Anderson convey this moral is that being too advance will led to a effect that we all have to pay back. Nothing is free in the world and as we consume more and more each day there will be nothing left. The character in "feed" went to the moon for vacation, buy things in their head, chat with each other or others in the head, listen to advertisement that would pop into their head base on what they like in order for them to buy, and watch their all time favorite show call Oh?Wow!Thing! When things are just going great for them, the cons for having the feed led them to having lesions. And that was one of the effect that what the feed is doing to them. It is selling them things, making life much more easier for them but it the feed is taking their life away.

In the story it seem like people are nothing without the feed. Like the example I give about Violet's father when he went into a interview with two guys that have the feed but he didn't get the job because I guess he was being discriminated because he did not have the feed from when he was born to present. So on the other hand not just that people did not have the feed or not it takes away their chance of doing things that they want to do. Violet's wanted to be like Titus and his friends because she thinks that they all are very well being. She did not get her feed until she was seven so she know how it feels like while Titus and his friends must have had their feed when they first open their eye to the world. Salad Days was one of the chapter in "feed" and this give a reasonable answer why people in the story are nothing without the feed. The Salad Days was when a hacker got into their brain and they just completely went blank, falling on the floor. None of them know what to do instead for Loga who was the only one in the group that was not hacked. At the time all of them did not know what to do they were just sitting there like they cannot even do anything. When the show Oh?Wow!Thing! came on they were all just sitting around Loga and Loga tells them what is going on.

I think Titus order all those pants in the second-to-last chapter because he wanted to get rid of the fact that the feed is affecting lives. He didn't want to accept the fact that Violet is going to die because of the feed. He just went to mal with his friends and did not care about Violet because I guess he wanted to erase the facts that he couldn't handle.

"Everything must go. . Everything must go. . Everything must go" I think this mean that at the end the things that are being sell to us will eventually fade away. According to the story those who have the feed are being affected by it and will also fade away. This connect to how media are being produce today because as we buy one things there is another things that will come up that will make what we use to have fade away or won't even matter to us anymore. Another example is if you walk into a mall you see sign outside the store that read "On Sale" it reminds me of "Everything must go" and it just mean one thing, when everything is gone there will be new things to replace it.

Hopefully my piece of collage will reflect the use of my personal feed as it connect to society and the book "feed".

VisualEssay

My personal "Visual Essay" includes themes that are base on consumerism, media, individuality, and so on. As we all know, these themes tie into one thing, we are human. As human we consume things, we look at magazines, we want to look good for ourselves (maybe for others?) and we make decision for ourselves.

These images that I have chosen to post on my blog tell many stories. It represents my themes by showing that having more is just not enough. People are at the mall every single day waiting for the newest thing to show up. It reminds me of Feed when Titus and Violet went to the mall, seeing parents waiting in line for the newest thing that was created for their kids. It also reminds me of the advertisements that would pop into their feed making them want things. The way the feed know what to sell to them is basically base on what that person like as an individual. I chose the third and fourth picture because it tells a story of how beautiful the world is. Many of those who work in business don't have time to see places like that. The ocean expresses many feelings and behind those feeling it releases stress. My message throughout the images are that life is like a dice, consuming is like a dice it plays over and over again, and each time when you roll the dice something new come up. For example, it reminds me of consumerism because as consumer we look for new things that is invented. The seventh picture of the women in shades, I find it ironic of her tears falling. It’s a really nice picture about Fashion because when I think of it could have many stories behind it. I think that Fashion and her tears falling is connected by having to do that fashion is something people need in their life. And of course when someone cry they couldn't get what they want right? One of the issue/theme that was discussed in class was when each group has to cut out advertisement to post on a poster, some students have things relating to "foods" I find that true. For example, I posted up a McDonald image because it says a lot about today society. As a teen, I buy a lot of McDonald but when I shop at the Mall of America I find it funny how people who are obese wait in line to order from MCDONALD, it is a big concern involving their life. But hey, who could stop you from all those yummy, oil foods! Maybe that is why we carve for it so much. It is like an addiction! "USE ONLY WHAT YOU NEED"- What do you think about that? I think that is something that we all need to consider today. As a consumer buying too much is just not enough. And when we buy too much we do not think about it before we give the casher our money. The values of some of these themes have developed over my lifetime, many in which are being use today. Too much chemical is being use for cleaning. For example I have a picture of Mr. Clean and I find it really amazing of what is being shown. The other entire strip is darker than the one that Mr. Clean picture is on it. It shows us that by using his product things could be cleaner. Now let’s talk about cell phone. Electronic have become really popular in other cases, I believed it is the top "need" in people life today. Every now and days I see teenagers with cell phone, texting in class, what does this say about us as human. Even I at some point need a cell phone because as teenagers who don't even have their license yet need ride right? I have developed this needs and I guess it goes with every other teenagers too. Money Isn't Everything- Now this is really helpful. People give blood to those who need it. I find this picture really important because it represents my theme of individuality and dystopia because it shows the world is full of millions of people and yet it is full of needs. See both sides of the story- This picture is awesome, some family members are at wars right now, and as we all know we pray for them every single day. Their family loves them truly and that is what makes them unforgettable for what they are doing for the country. Each soldier has their story, their own unique story that is not yet heard. I like how the images are like a right angle with the statement on it.

Blog2

Many histories are being talk about today as the present will be written about too and for the upcoming future to be anonymous. In the book Feed by M.T. Anderson the "feed" have affected Titus personality and intelligence. As discussed in class we can all understand that having the feed placed inside their brain, it is doing everything for them. Well, at least making them want things as the advertisement pop up into their own head. Even Titus doesn’t understand how Violet would write and read, for example, he just go "awe". The feed is seriously damaging their brain and making them buys things that they don't even need. On pg. 24 I came upon this statement, "they were wearing these tachyon shorts so you couldn't barely look at them, which were $789.99 according to the feed, and they were on sale for like $699 at the Zone, and could be shipped to the hotel for an additional $78.95, and that was just one great thing that people were wearing." I personally could not believe that a short would cost that much! I mean today society of course everyone wants the most brand new name clothes and even shoes, along with accessories etc. But people don't realized that they are paying too much for the items that they won't even need for maybe, a couple of months later when something new would be invented.

On pg. 96 as Violet and Titus go to the mall they discover the way the mall function. Many parents were rushing in line to get their kids the newest toys. Violet then told Titus that she have been trying to create a customer profile that's so screwed, no one can market to it. When Titus parents agreed to buy him an upcar Titus was actually happy. He was so surprised and happy that his last statement ended with, "...suddenly, I didn't feel stupid anymore." I wonder why he even felt stupid in the first place. Was this his parents way of telling him that he should not be stressed out about the feed or is it their way of getting him to not think about what Violet had said to him about the feed that is messing up their minds? Of course in reality, when everyone first have their license they would want a fancy car that they can drive around.

"They're also waiting to make you want things. Everything we've grown up with...it's all streamlining our personalities so we're easier to sell to...they do these demographic studies that divide everyone up into a few personality types, and then you get ads based on what you're supposedly like. They try to figure out who you are, and to make you conform to one of their types for easy marketing" (p.80-81)

I like this statement a lot because it makes me think about how scary it is that people could be consuming based on their wants, needs and like. It is true that the feed that is implanted into their brain are making them want more and more because of the things they like. Teenagers are the biggest consumer because as we are all young, we tend to want every bit that spark our eyes. Or even those that we see that have them and we aim to get them too. It is pretty much about, "I have it, so you should have it too in order to look cool like me." Marketing today's society based their invention on what will attract people. For example, there are more bright things because bright clothes, shoes, anything you name it stand out more than dark color things. There are so many cars out there in the world that aren't just enough! I think if I have the feed and if there was a chatting thing in it, I would chat on it all day. I wouldn't even have to open my mouth. Maybe thats why I can become lazy. I think if I do that, I wouldn't even be able to say anything because it would feel so awkward. "Chatting" would totally affect modernday communication, it is not so very professional and but why learn in school and not use that great knowledge to speak things out loudly. I think this is one of the biggest issue throughout the book feed because it just make them look dumb. For example at the party that Titus and his friends attended, no one speaks but they seem like they were having lots of fun because they were either watching the OH!WOW!THING or chatting with eachother, compare to today party, every person is being loud.

Feed

4/23/2009, I am sitting here typing my thoughts onto this blog. Feed by M.T. Anderson has become very interesting as the number of pages increase. I find myself wanting to read more into the book each time when I pause to summarize my thoughts about the book itself. When I started reading, I didn't understand much about why they would go to the moon on their spring break. The typical thing teen would do on their spring break, would be going outside or at least somewhere else beside home and the moon. The characters in the beginning toward the middle of the book are focused on Titus, Violet, Marty, Link, Calista, Loga, and Quendy. Those seven "unit" went to the moon on their spring break. They all, beside Violet, went to the moon together and somehow they came to meet Violet when they were on the moon. Titus who is the main character, the narrator, he is very well educated in his own ways in which he tends to think for himself. Violet, who seem to be the smart one out of the bunch, Titus seem to have his eye on her, she read and write most of the time when she have the chance and Titus was amazed by her writing like he never done it before. Violet wants to be normal like Titus and his friends because they seem to not care about much of their surround. When we define normal, it is quite difficult because who know, people may think we are crazy for doing the things that seem to be "normal" to ourselves.

Though the character seemed to have their own type of attitudes, I find it funny how the author chooses their name for them. I think in my opinion, those name; Titus, Link, Violet, and so on are chosen because the whole book basically mean technology. The world that they live in are basically using internet! Without a computer in front of the eye, it is inside their brain. I think the name that the author came up with have to be connected to that they are basically like machine! Which is a sad thing? If people today, even I, were to have a transmitter implanted directly into my brain, life could be much easier but to the point of when a hacker hacked into their brain and everyone just went dead that would be very frightening. Life as of today by using the computer, we all know that when a virus hit the computer it completely go out of control. So I wonder what if we today, have a transmitter in our brain and a virus came in all of head would we go out of control. How will the world be like then? Titus seems like the guy in Final Fantasy (a video game I believed). But sometimes I wonder if they have a transmitter implanted into their brain, why do they have feelings? Aren't they just like...? ROBOT?

Awwww man! I still want to write more, this is some deep thinking! I love to think deep. But I have 500 words already. =(

I found this on Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feed_(novel)

Titus
The narrator and protagonist. Titus is the teenage son of an upper middle class family. Though glimmers of curiosity and creativity can be seen from time to time throughout the story, Titus, for the most part, is content with his consumerist lifestyle.

Violet
Violet remains Titus' girlfriend for most of the book. She was raised by her eccentric father, and was homeschooled. She possesses views at odds with what Titus has known all his life. She is significantly less well off than Titus, which often leads her to criticize Titus and his friends.

Marty
One of Titus' fiends. Marty is described as being good at any game. He can be loud and obnoxious at times.

Link
Another friend of Titus. Link is the clone of Abraham Lincoln. Titus describes him as "tall and butt-ugly." He is also said to be much richer than Titus, and lives in a gated community. Calista and Quendy compete for his attention throughout the book.

Calista
Calista is outspoken and opinionated. She has an ability to manipulate others with a combination of looks and talk. She is often the one to start one of the fights she and the other characters have with Violet.

Loga
Before the time of the story, Loga and Titus were going out. Though they are now broken up, they are still friends. Loga is tho only one of the group who is not hacked at the Rumble Spot.

Quendy
Titus describes Quendy as a "broken little economy model of Calista. She spends much of the story in a bout of one-upmanship with Calista over Link. When Link chooses Calista over her, she begins to make advances on Titus, and they end up going out. In the final scene, when Titus visits Violet to tell her "stories," he says he was on his way for a date with Quendy.

Soul Mate

About two years ago, in the summer time I was sitting in the living room. My sister are such movies "crazy". Online they were searching for movies or drama to watch. They came upon this drama called, "Soulmate". I wacthed it with them assuming that it might just be another boring movie. But this movie was actutually pretty touching. It gives many ways of a fantasy to real lifetime or in other words the "present". And yes, of course the character are very good. I don't really watch korean drama. So this was probably one of the best I had seen so far because it actutally make sense and tie into a big piece of logic. Here's a brief summary of this korean drama that I found on wikipedia:

In this new sitcom "SoulMate," the story will be focusing on finding the other half of a missing soul of four couples.

Summary: The person you meet once in your lifetime that fate has brought to you! This person you call your soulmate. The year 2006, your soulmate is secretly creeping up on you… What if my other half is really living somewhere out there; will I be able to notice them? It is a question that can be asked by anyone who is in their marital age. A time when matchmaking agencies are flooded with people! Try re-identifying the true meaning of marriage and love while watching 6 couples live the same life that you’re living in.

We will show you everything you need to know in the love game!

This is a sitcom young adults and adults can enjoy. Members of all age groups can enjoy it, and benefit from its honest and ongoing talk about love. It gives its viewers some final answers to the “love game” questions and presents confusing issues in a way that everyone can understand. The drama will tell you everything you’ve always wanted to know, from spending a night with a guy you don’t like, to how to completely win over a guys heart; and much more!! It spills out all the secrets of the love game.

"It is easier to stir up a women's heart than to drink wine." Dong-wook, a playboy who no one can even dare to follow. "My boyfriend of 5 years!! He is definitely my soulmate!!" Soo-kyung, a girl who only looks at one man like a sunflower; a perfect, pure hearted character. Two people who have never seen each other, and who live on the opposite sides of the world from each other live and love in their own way, but from some point on they start to move towards the same dream and feel the same physiological feelings. Two people who have met by fate in a world full of mixed up fates. Now, the most amazing things, which no one could have ever thought of, start to unfold between the two.

Spring Break Conclusion

Dear Reader,
Spring break this school year was fun. I would not say it was boring nor amazing. It was just simple. I went to the mall of america to volunteer with my badminton team for about eight hours. It was awesome but very tired because we stand all day answering questions or work at the rides. I need to go shopping. I havn't had time to shop! My father birthday was on friday, we did not do anything. My sister and I was planning to take my father and the rest of the family to the restaurant but then change of plans. On Easter day the family went to a picnic with the rest of the cousin to celebrate two birthdays and just spend time together before school start. It was fun but then it was super windy which was not how I like it to be outside. Overall Spring break went good. I didn't want to go back to school because I was really tired. Well, school today was fine. Its actutally a new quarter! I hope to make this quarter better than my last quarter. I believe I can if I just focused. My grades are not what it is if I did not make it to be what it is. I know I could have done better last quarter. Maybe its time to start realizing every piece of works is important. I'm ready for a better ending of sophmore years. I cannot believe sophmore year is almost over though. We're going to be junior this fall of 2009 and how amazing is that? I'm not ready, I think the works are going to be much harder. But it could be quite a challenge so I probably will be prepared.

Consumer !

Like.. omgoodness, OH GOSH why do people consume more than what they need !

I define consumerism as something that people consume of base on advertisement and so on. When media representations sell their products they make sure that it will make the consumer or buyer go "awe, that is so awesome I must have it." But what I seriously do not understand is that why do people tend to go for something that just spark their eye at first sight? They do not even think about it before they buy it. I cannot blame people for that, even I at time want something and just buy it but after a couple of week I would forget about that stuff that I brought. For example, a pair of shoes that I would just wear for a couple of weeks and throw them away especially if it was white and it turned dirty. I mean yeaah of course, who would want a white shoe that is dirty? I think this tie into "fitting in." In where as teens today tend to buy things in which they think others teens have so they should have it too. I believed that people are in control of their wants and needs. But when they wants what caught their eye they cannot control their needs for it. I think media, teachnology or popular culture personally affect me by catching my attention in teling me that I need that to survive. I think media teachnology can speak a lot but some of the things that they may say may not be fully the truth. I think this define American culture identity and how they define me is that the things that media tend to sell are actutally working because they have their ways to make it seem real or make it seem as if it is something people need in their life to be more satisfy. It define us as people who wants more than what we can handle. Even if we were to say we do not want something we tend to aim for it and we do not stop. The social implications of technology use, consumerism, or anticonsumerism are ... Well first of all, lets define consumerism, according to the dictionary.com consumerism mean

–noun

1. a modern movement for the protection of the consumer against useless, inferior, or dangerous products, misleading advertising, unfair pricing, etc.

2. the concept that an ever-expanding consumption of goods is advantageous to the economy.

3. the fact or practice of an increasing consumption of goods: a critic of American consumerism.

For us as the understanding of technology, I think everyone thinks that technology makes their life better, but what if one day technology just die on us? Are we just going to let it happen and not continue to live without it? or will the world just totally go out of control? I believed that teachnology can be good but sometimes it may be bad, we cannot just rely on technology every single day of our life. We must be in control because technology is not always positive. Consuming too much could cause harm to one another especially to nature itself. Sometimes when one use technology too much in their daily life they would start to forget about other things. For example, spending time on the computer and not realizing that the sun has come down. People don't exercise much in their daily life either, I guess another way to say this is that people are lazy. Even I myself have become lazy at times. Multitask has become psrt of people life in which they tend to suppose get something finish first but then they add in another. Computer has become a major affect in many lives because it transport information faster. Along with shopping, people buy too much of everything that they did not think about it if they really need it. And so this repeat over and over again. Even if we want to stop, their is this crave for more.
